H&M Shoes

Very rarely do I get an email that makes me actually click to go to the website. Today though it happened. I received an email from H&M that said they were releasing more shoes online. Instantly I liked at least 4 of the pairs of shoes on the ad. I thought I would give them a browse and now I want them all. There is a bit of a pattern to the shoes I picked mostly boots. It is supposed to be getting really cold in Georgia this week. A little preparation never hurt anyone right?
 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Beautiful shoes. I am especially in love with 7. I have wanted some harness cowboy boots for quite a while. And while these are ankle boots I think you still get the right feel. And now I actually can not find the link to these boots they must be sold out. My second favorite are 2. the two tone swede biker boots. To be honest I love all of these. Check out their site and let me know what your H&M favorites are right now. Does not have to be shoes!

Bar Cart Part 1

Hello! I am on a bit of a home DIY kick at the moment. I have so many projects that I want to do and need to finish. My most recent one is my metal cart that I got this week. Needless to say it has jumped ahead a few of my others...

Recently, I was perusing the Antique/furniture section on Craigslist which of course is what a normal 23 year old does on a Tuesday night. And I found a metal cart for sale on the other side of Atlanta. I have been wanting a metal cart to turn into a bar cart for quite a while. Ever since I saw this post on A Beautiful Mess on Elsie's Bar cart. On our thrifting/yard sale adventures I have been keeping one eye open for a cart and found nada. So when I found the cart on Craigslist I showed it to Steve and said when are we leaving.

We headed off to Clarkston, Ga and ended up meeting one of the sweetest ladies. She is retired and to make extra money she hunts down vintage/antique items at estate sales then resales them on Craigslist. I could have sat there and talked to her for hours she was great.

And here it is! Nothing to fancy but I have found quite a few on pinterest that seem to have used this exact same cart. 1.2.3.4.

I am a little unsure on whether or not I really want to paint it. I cleaned it today and then took a find sanding block to it. I was able to make the white legs pretty white with the sanding block they did look quite dingy. The yellow and white look really cute to me on the cart and I kind of want to just clear coat it. I like seeing the rougher spots and age on it. I think I am going to set it up with it how it is now and then decide if I want to paint it later.

We have been slowly collecting vintage bar items. I have a couple of shakers and glass decanters that have been sitting on my hutch that I can not wait to put onto the cart. Now we just have to figure out what we will put in the decanters.  There are a few things that we are missing. I have found two posts that are really helping me think about what I want on the cart one is by A Beautiful Mess (here) and the other on Mint Love Social Club (here). Looks like we definitely need a wooden muddler.

Let me know if you have seen a great cart redone! I would love to check out pictures. My twitter is @emilyvannah if you see one please tweet it to me!

Until next time,

The Best Liquid Eyeliner

Hello! I know it has been a long time since y'all have heard from me. Life has definitely caught up with me. The mix of having a full time job, editing a wedding, keeping up with home chores, and just going out has limited the amount of time I have to write. I hope that this will change soon and I will be back to writing consistently.

On to the product I have grown to love, the Stila Stay All day Waterproof Liner. The title of this blog The Best Liquid Eyeliner in itself has quite a few claims it needs to answer. Does the eyeliner stay a long time with no smudging? Yes, through tears and sweat it does not budge. Does the product have a nice fine tip that is easy to control especially with winged liner? Yes, I love winged eyeliner and this has made it so easy for me. It has a great fine tip. Is the product going to last me a long time or is it going to dry out in a month? It will last you months. I honestly think each one has lasted me a bout a year.  Does it cost a million dollars? $20, not drugstore but definitely not the most expensive out there.

This eyeliner has been my saving grace. Over the years I have tried just about ever different type of eyeliner that is out there. I went through a stage of wearing traditional pencil eyeliners. Then on to gel eyeliners. And even the eyeshadow as liner stage. These three different ways did not serve me well. I always ended up with smudged eyeliner that would fade on me or leave little black specks on my face. I have not had any problems with the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liner! It is my eyeliner dream.

I know all of this raving can sound a little ridiculous and like I am on the Stila payroll,1. 2.
but I have bought everyone of my liners and Stila has probably never heard of me. It honestly has been the best eyeliner I've ever owned. Literally this is my third one. They have all been well loved. Oddly, I just do not want to throw them away. I most likely will now that there is photographic proof. Here are a couple of other posts I have done with this eyeliner.

Surprise! & Popsugar

Surprise! In more ways than one. I am finally back. It has been too long. There has been so much going on. I will have a recap post on what has been keeping me away later. For now I want to concentrate on the wonderful package I got this month from POPSUGAR! I was so excited to receive the June Must Have box. I literally tore into the box when I got home. Please excuse the lack of packaging. =]

First lets go over the goodies in this box! I am truly feeling a beach and summer theme with this box.

The Shiny Citrus Body Lotion by Sachajuan is incredible. I almost jumped up and down when I saw that it was a Citrus lotion. I am in love with the smell of citrus. This lotion has more to it though than just the citrus. This is what I would consider a grown up citrus smell with a little bit of spice.

There is Emily Griffin's book The One & Only. I always am in need of a good book especially during the summer. This one looks like a great poolside read. Also I love that it is an actual hard back book and not just a code to get an eread version.

Then there is another great poolside item the Turkish -T Beach towel. You can feel the quality in this towel. It is not at all like the old school Pocahontas beach towel I had when I was 5. It is made of a really nice thin cotton and can also be used as a wrap.

I have been wearing one of the Lollies basic hair ties around my wrist since I got this box. I love the simple gold circle with the braided cord. It is great that there were three in the box too that way I can keep one in my purse, my car, and on my wrist.

The You Smell Lemon Wet Wipes wins the packaging battle of this box. The box is fantastic! I love the typography. Also you can feel the quality put into these. I know that sounds weird when talking about wet wipes, but these are not the little wipes you get at a wing place. These I will be going in my car for these hot Georgia days when you immediately want a bath but it is impossible. Give your arms a quick wipe with these and your will feel clean and your skin will feel soft.

The One Potato Two Potato Hawaiian BBQ chips are the one item that I would skip. I do love kettle chips it is just the flavor. I am not a fan of BBQ chips to begin with and the little Hawaiian twist was not doing it for me. I would totally try the Sweet Onion flavor from them though.

Lastly, in the box there was a $15 dollar voucher with Native Union. I had not heard of them before this box. After checking out their website their products range from cases to handsets to speakers. Looks like I will be using my voucher on their new product the Monocle. I like how it is possible to link up to 10 together.

Overall I think that Popsugar is completely worth it. For $39.95 a month I could see how a lot of people would think that it might be a little much, but you get so much for what you pay for. The products just in this box reached a total of $100 plus the $15 voucher. Also I have a coupon code that you can use to get $10 off a 3 month subscription. Use JUNESELECT10 to get the $10 off before 6/30/14.

Let me know if you are a subscriber or if you have been one! I would love to hear what you think.

POPSUGAR provided me with a complimentary POPSUGAR Must Have box. The opinions I have shared about the box are my own and POPSUGAR did not tell me what to say or how to say it.

Ikea Shopping List

Finally a wishlist that I am now turning into a shopping list! We have found a house. I am over the moon excited. I feel like I have been neglecting Eager Emily for the past few weeks. But there has been a lot going on. Along with the house that we are moving into Friday I started a new job today. It seems like everything comes together at once. So I have been a busy bee. And I am itching to get to idea. So I have picked a few things that I am pretty sure we are going to be buying. If not on the first trip then on the second.

1. Lill Lace Curtain- $3.99, I want to get a ton of these. I really want to create a canopy over the bed. Also these would be great to just have on all of the windows. Example: Here & Here

2. KALLAX- $139, This is the new version of the Expedit. I know that has had a lot of people in an uproar. But I think they look similar enough and will do exactly what I want. I am itching to style some shelves like here and here. Weird thing for a 20 something to say, huh.

3. Tarva- $149, I am in need of a new dresser. I really am loving the look of stained top dressers with the bottom painted. Inspiration.

4. BEKVÄM- $14.99, This is such a cute little stool.

5. ASKHOLMEN- $19.99, The house we are moving into has a great screened in porch and I can not wait to fill it up with plants.

6. VITTSJÖ- $139, I have mentioned this before. The hacks of the Vittsjo look fairly simple, but they have a big impact. Like the one here or here. I especially like it when the glass shelves are replaced with wood.

Project 52: Week 12

Well it is a little late this week. But I did take the photograph during week 12. I have had a lot going on this week and there are some big changes in my life coming. So trying to deal with what is coming and have time to edit photos has been rough. But the changes are good and I cannot wait to share them with y'all when I can.

This is an Austin A40 Farina. Eventually we plan on restoring it. It will not be a back to factory restoration because at one point it was actually made into a little truck. As odd as that sounds it is really cute and the change was well done. It looks like a mini with the back open. This car is tiny and I love it.

Project 52: Week 11

We enjoyed some wonderful weather this past week. Currently the bad weather is catching back up with us and it is the second day of rain in Dallas. When it was beautiful outside I decided to just take a walk in my backyard and found this little guy. I love these little flowers. I remember being little and making little bouquets of them. I am still really enjoying my 50mm lens. Lately, I have actually had a hard time taking it off my camera. My other lens's are feeling a little neglected. My goal for this week is to post a picture actually not using my 50mm.

On a side note definitely check out this post by Peta Pixel of the 50 Photography Quotes to Inspire You. One of my favorites is, "Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still" by Dorothea Lange.

Vintage Home Haul

Oh boy I went on another home goods shopping spree. This time I went to an estate sale with Steve. We actually went on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we stopped by and realized we had no cash on us. Which looking back was a horrible idea. We should have went and got cash right then. So I purchased the crazy floral fabric in the last picture for 25 cents and left. When we were there Steve fell in love with a cabinet so we decided to come back on Sunday when everything was 50% off. The items that we really loved ended up not being there anymore. Steve's cabinet and these awesome wire outdoor chairs that I fell in love with were gone. However, we quickly got over our disappointment of those items being gone and found some more goodies. We braved waking up early on the day of the time change and were not going home empty handed. I ended up with a bunch of goodies.

I think that these two pitchers are really classic and would look great with hydrangeas in them. I am not really sure what they are called I think they are referred to as salt glaze, but I am not sure.  If you know the name of pitchers like this please let me know.

Then I found this little guy. I usually do not go for pottery pieces like this, but I like the cloudy gray bit of glaze on the top. There is a mark on the bottom, but it is  not legible.

Then I found these great old maps. The Savannah map is not that old, but the map of Smyrna is from the early 70's. I love the colors in the Smyrna map. And it would look really cool hanging up. Especially in a lucite frame that I found a diy for here

A neat thing I found on the map was the street that my Great Aunt Edna lived off of.

Then I picked up a bedspread. It is in really good shape and would look great on my bed.

Then here is the fabric that I picked up on Saturday. It would be cute to make into a little curtain for a kitchen.

With all of the house items if you have been following me for a while you might be wondering if we have finally found a house. Sadly, we have not. Though we are going to look at one on Friday. It has been really frustrating. A lot of people are just not calling us back or not replying to any emails. But I am hopeful that Friday will go well! Also I am getting my hair cut tomorrow too. My super long hair has started to get really annoying. It has been getting caught on things and tangled lately.

Project 52: Week 10

Ah Spring. It seems like Spring has come in Georgia. Hopefully this weather will last and not revert back to winter. I am so ready to wear sundresses and go to car shows. On Saturday Steve and I drove around and ended up at the Marietta Square and eating at a new restaurant The Local. The food was great! Then in the middle of the park there were these gorgeous trees blooming with the clear blue sky we had that day the contrast between the pink flowers and the sky really stuck out to me.

I hope the weather where you are is getting better! As always let me know if you have a photo of the day project or a photography blog so that I can follow it!

Project 52: Week 9

I have to say that I am disappointed with my photo this week. I am going to be honest this is an iphone picture. This week was a lot of fun but, I did not get a chance to bring my camera around with me. Also the places we went to would not be a great place to bring to a DSLR. We went out on Friday to Sweet Water. It was a lot of fun. The Sweet Water Blue ended up being my favorite. I really need to pick up a smaller good quality camera.

I hope you had better luck with your photo projects this week! Please leave me a comment linking to your blog.

Forever 21 Haul

I took a trip to Forever 21 the other day. In a post the other week I made a Forever 21 wishlist. I was about to hit the confirm button on an online order when I realized that I had time to just go down to the store. My goal when I entered the store was to find my red dress. Then if I found anything else I liked after that it was extra. Well I found my dress!

It is absolutely adorable. The weather has taken a turn for the cold again here or I would be wearing this everyday. The detail on the sleeves is fantastic. Also it is a little bit longer for a Forever 21 dress. All around I think the quality of this feels higher than usual for Forever 21.

I Love London Ankle Socks - $1.50
Then I decided to check out the accessories and the first thing I picked up were these adorable little London socks. I just thought they were cute and for a $1.50 I was not going to put them back.

Heart Shaped Sunglasses (Similar) - $7.80 & Must Have V-Neck - $5.80
Then I picked up some adorable heart shaped sunglasses. Looking back I wish I had found the ones with red rims instead. But for like $7.80 and my sunglasses breaking habit I thought they were a good buy. Also I picked up a simple grey v-neck. I liked this one because it felt a little bit thicker than some of their other tees and is perfect for a casual outfit.

French Bulldog Compact Mirror - $3.80
Lastly, but certainly not least is this adorable little mirror that I picked up in the check out line. Forever 21's check out lines always get me. Atleast 9 times out of 10 I end up adding something to my basket. I love the adorable little Frenchy and his bow tie. I think I need to call him Mr. Smith.

What are you loving at Forever 21 lately? I would love to hear some of your favorites. I am constantly posting finds from Forever 21 on my pinterest board

Also I am going to be doing a giveaway soon! Because of this I am going to add a little survey on the right sidebar for everyone to answer how they subscribe to Eager Emily. When I am making up the giveaway widget I do not want to leave anyone out!

CVS Haul

The other day I ventured into CVS to pick up a few things. I was going in particular for Seche Vite. My nails have not been painted for a while mostly because I ran out of my top coat. This is my first time trying the Seche Vite top coat. I have tried the base coat and liked it a good bit. I also picked up a nail buffing block. The block is relatively inexpensive and a must have for doing your nails. I picked up one of the Scandaleyes shadowsticks by Rimmel in the color Bad Girl Bronze. The Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof Kohl Kajal nude eye pencil is one of my favorites. The eye crayon is perfect for making a warm smokey eye. I used this for the concert went to and it stayed all night. There are a few more colors I am interested in Gossip Green, Paranoid Purple, and Guilty Grey. Lastly, I picked up the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask. I have not tried a sheet mask before and this one seemed rather nice. Though I have heard that they are not as effective as Asian beauty masks. I have been looking at the My Beauty Diary masks. If you have tried any great tissue masks let me know if you liked them!

Project 52: Week 8

For our anniversary Steve gave me a vintage Polaroid 80B Highlander camera. I absolutely love it! The colors are great. I wish that there was still film made for the camera. I have a pretty large vintage camera collection now. I showed off my collection over on Eager Emily in the My Vintage Camera Collection post I did last summer. I have added a few more. If you are interested in an updated camera collection let me know. The above picture is my pick for the week's photograph but, I liked a few more too so I thought I would share them with you.

I absolutely love this camera. I wish a company would make film for this camera available again. Hopefully, companies will stop discontinuing some of their film products. I am so upset about Fujifilm discontinuing the FUJIFILM FP-3000B Black and White Film I use in my Land Camera. I have started my stock pile, every pay day I purchase a couple of boxes now.

My Week through Photographs

I had a very eventful week! First there was the second installment of the Snowpocolyse in Atlanta. It was crazy. I literally did not work for three days because of the snow and ice. Then during the snow and ice it was Steve and I's 5 year anniversary. We did not go out for a big dinner because we had big weekend plans. Which involved us going to Dahlonega for Friday night to see a fun cover band and staying the night. Then we went to the Flogging Molly concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. It was the best concert ever. I do not know if I can ever top that concert. This will be a very picture heavy post! I have had a great week. Please enjoy. =]

I do have quite a few more photographs of this week. I am planning on posting some of them on Focusing Daily this week. Check out my Project 52: Week Seven photograph! And thank you for the feedback about the bangs! I am still on the fence about them though. For the next few weeks I am going to concentrate on saving money. I do have a few hauls to post from this past week. Hence, the need to save some money.

On another note I am loving watching the Olympics! What event is your favorite?

Emily

Project 52: Week 7

This week has been crazy. We had literally 3 day of being snow/iced in. I did get to spend the last day with Steve. He ventured out to see me because it was our 5 year anniversary! Holy cow, pretty long time right. Well he had to park at a little lot through the woods so he could walk through the woods to get to the house.

I have not venture into the woods in my backyard much. They have been my little brother's haven where he can run around with his friends building tree houses and playing airsoft. Before Steve decided to venture to the house I decided to take a walk around the woods with my camera. It is beautiful. While there are not a lot of old hardwood trees, mostly smaller pine trees, the snow made it peaceful. I was thankful for my little day trip later when it was dark and I had to walk through the woods to meet Steve because I promised I would come get him from the lot.

I hope you have had a great week! If you are around Atlanta I hope you did not have to many problems with the weather.

Hair Story: Bangs Edition

I have been going back and forth between getting bangs again or not. I have just fully grown out my old straight across bangs. So it has been about a year since I had them last. My relationship with bangs is complicated I love them and hate them. I have had them at least 3 times now. When they are really good they are great. But when something goes wrong it goes really wrong. The first time I got bangs they were perfect. Then I got them trimmed. When they were trimmed the hair stylist curved them in the middle. Like little girl bangs. I don't think little girls even get bangs like that anymore. I was devastated. The last time I got them I really liked them but the sides were never quite right. I do think that I really want them again though.

Happy 5 Year Anniversary to my love, Steve.

(Most recent bangs)

(Little girl bangs period)

What do you think? My hair has gotten really long now. So I am thinking a trim and bangs. Here are a few examples of looks I love. (1,2,3,4,5) I would love some feedback.

P.S. Snowpocalypse is more like Icepocalypse today. And I am starting to to stir crazy. Also today is my anniversary and I will not be able to see Steve. Lame. Hopefully, we will get some real snow if it is going to be like this.
